Canterbury Police are now able to name the victim of the fatal crash at the junction of SH1 and Harleston Road shortly before 1.15pm on 31 May 2015. She was 58 year old Susan Mary McLeod from Kaiapoi.
The death has been referred to the Coroner. Canterbury Police and Victim Support are working with her family who are devastated at their sudden loss.
Susan was riding pillion when the motorcycle she was on collided with the rear of a stationary car waiting to turn right onto Harleston Road. The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious leg injuries and is in a stable condition in Christchurch Hospital.
Canterbury Police investigations are continuing.
