Waikato Police host Public Open Day

1 min read

Hamilton Police Station is opening its doors to the public this month as part of New Zealand Police’s nationwide Open Days.

Being held on Sunday 11 March, the Open Day is a great opportunity to meet with local officers and learn more about the different teams within Police.

Waikato District Commander, Superintendent Bruce Bird says the Open Day event is highly anticipated event for both Police and the local community and is a great way for anyone wanting to join the Police to get an insight into the job.

“Our Open Day will give members of the public an opportunity to visit our cells and our District Command Centre and there will be demonstrations from our AOS and Road Policing teams and of course,  our ever popular Police Dogs.

“There will also be the chance for people, especially those keen to join the Police, to take part in aspects of the Police fitness test so they can experience first-hand the level of fitness officers are required to have.

“I encourage anyone interested in joining Police to come along and talk to our local officers about what it’s like to Police in the great community of Waikato.

“Waikato Police look forward to hosting our local community,” says Superintendent Bird.
