Wellington Police seeking sightings of suspicious male and vehicle

1 min read

Wellington Police are investigating some suspicious activity that occurred at the bottom of Albemarle Road, Northland, Wellington at approximately 10.00am on Sunday 1 September 2013.

A teenage girl was walking alone up Albemarle Road when a light blue station wagon has driven passed her and then stopped.

A male has got out of the vehicle, approached the girl and asked her if she wanted a ride up the hill, to which she declined.  The male has then pushed her toward his vehicle, at which point she has managed to run-off up the hill.

The male has been described as approximately 60 years old, of pale complexion and medium build, with brown bushy medium length hair over his ears. He was wearing prescription glasses with thin gold rims, a baggy red jersey and long golden brown coloured pants.

Police are seeking anyone who was in the area on Sunday morning that may have seen the light blue station wagon, the male described or any other suspicious activity.

Anyone with any information that may assist the investigation should contact the Wellington Central Police Station on (04) 381 2000. Information can also been provided anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
