Just after 7.00pm this evening Simon NELLEY handed himself in at the Whanganui Police Station.
Det. Sgt Craig Gorringe advises Mr NELLEY voluntarily handed himself in this evening and is now helping the police with their investigation.
The firearm has also been recovered.
Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
