Whanganui Police seek assistance from the public

Whanganui Police are investigating an assault that happened in the early hours Sunday morning (14 August) on the path between the War Memorial Hall and the Whanganui City Library.

At approximately 1am, a 17 year old man was assaulted by another man while walking along the path and was knocked to the ground. He required medical treatment as a result of the assault.

The assault was likely witnessed by members of the public as it was in close proximity to the War Memorial Hall. 

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assult or was in the area at the time. Anyone with information relating to this case can contact Constable Michelle Evans of the Whanganui Police on 06 349 0600.
