Who owns these? Wellington police have stolen jewellery to reunite with owners

1 min read

Police in Wellington have uncovered a large amount of property they believe to be stolen while undertaking search warrants for drugs and are seeking to reunite the property with its owners.

The value of the property is thought to be in excess of $50k and includes watches and jewellery.

A number of the items, particularly the jewellery, is distinctive and will be recognised by the owner.

“The nature of the jewellery suggests it could be heirlooms and be irreplaceable to its owners,” says Detective Sergeant Shane Dye from Wellington Police. “I’m sure there’s a number of people who will be relieved to be reunited with their property.”

“We know burglaries are invasive to victims and when there’s items with sentimental value that are taken, it’s particularly distressing.”

“If this property belongs to you, or you think you know who it belongs to, please give us a call.”

If you believe any of the stolen property belongs to you please email Peter.Dear@police.govt.nz or phone (04) 381 2000 and ask for Pete Dear.

Please note: Only some items have been added to this link.   We will keep adding images of the stolen property to the site over the next few days.  It will take some time to upload them all as there are several more photos to add.
