Statement attributable to Acting Detective Inspector Mike Ford
Canterbury Police are seeking information from witnesses following a serious assault in Malvern Street, St Albans earlier this evening.
The incident happened shortly before 6pm on a driveway outside a property on Malvern Street. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the assault, particularly anyone who was driving on Malvern Street between Cranford Street and Roosevelt Avenue at the time of the incident.
One man received critical injuries as a result of the assault and one man has been arrested and will be appearing in Christchurch District Court on Monday 28 January 2019.
The incident this evening is believed to be an isolated event between two men known to each other and Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the matter.
