Woman's identity unknown

1 min read

The woman found floating near the shore at Okahu Bay this morning is possibly of south Asian descent and in her 20s. She had shoulder-length black hair and had a small stud in her left nostril.

Detective Sergeant John de Heer of the Auckland City Crime Squad says it appears the woman was in the water for less than 24 hours before being found.

"We are not aware of any reports of a missing person that match the description of the woman found in Okahu Bay at about 10am today and she did not have any identification on her.

"She was wearing grey trousers and a light blue or grey short-sleeved tee shirt with buttons down the front."

If anyone knows of a woman of this description who hasn't turned up to work or a tertiary institute today or who is unable to be contacted by family or friends, they should call Auckland City CIB on 09 302 6557.
