Welcome
to the August issue of Ten-One Community Edition. This month we update
you on the latest NZ Police recruiting campaign which includes contacting
3000 currently serving officers from overseas jurisdictions who have
expressed an interest in coming to New Zealand.
Also included this month is a feature on the work NZ Police is doing
with the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police organisation. We also hear
from two NZ Police overseas deployments: the Solomon Islands and Afghanistan.
And we take a look at Counties/Manukau Pacific Liaison Officer Senior
Constable Alf Filipaina's 'It's all about choice' road
show which graphically illustrates the consequences of poor driving
decisions.
The fifth volume of the official NZ Police history – More than
Law and Order – is due out in September. Author and professional
historian Susan Butterworth gives us a preview of what is contained
in the 348-page history of policing in New Zealand between
1945 in 1992.
