Silver anniversary for RNZPC
The Royal New Zealand Police College celebrates its 25th anniversary
on 1 April 2006 and planning for the occasion is well underway.
The Police College was opened at its current site in Porirua by HRH the
Prince of Wales on 1 April 1981. Before 1981 the Police College had been
based at Trentham Military Camp.
"Interest in the anniversary is expected to be high as all sworn
staff who have joined police in the past 25 years have trained at the
College and there are a large number of training staff with close connections,"
says RNZPC Training Commander, Superintendent Alistair (Olly)
Beckett. The celebrations include a formal dinner and get together for
serving and former police staff, and an open day for the public, on Saturday
1 April.
"The open day will involve a wide range of specialist police groups
to give the public an insight into the many different activities police
are involved in," says Olly. |
