| Welcome to the second community edition of Ten-One for October 2007. |
Welcome to the second community edition of Ten-One for October 2007. Our production cycle is such that, at this time of year, two community editions fall in the same month. In this issue we outline three Police initiatives among the winning entries at ACC's recent New Zealand Community Safety and Injury Prevention Awards. We profile a community policing initiative in Petone's Jackson Street which is building bridges and lifting local spirits. A new Arms Code has been produced for the benefit of all firearms users and owners, and the use of a family violence alarm has helped stave off a potentially harmful attack. Policing is a highly visible profession and three stories outline vastly different aspects of policing 'on display' - from the Auckland Pipe Band performing at the Edinburgh Tattoo through to next year's planned open day at the Royal New Zealand Police College. Cheers for now. Rob Lee
