Update – cattle theft on Banks Peninsula

1 min read

Please attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant Neville Jenkins

Police making inquiries into the theft of seven cattle from a property on Banks Peninsula have accounted for two of the missing animals.

Investigators have received a call from a member of the public who heard about the allegation of stock thefts from a Port Levy property.

That person’s information is proving to be very helpful.

Police continue to make inquiries into the remaining missing cattle and the five Friesian bulls missing from an adjacent location.

We are grateful for the positive feedback we have received from the community so far.

Stock theft does happen from time to time and the investigation reinforces the need for diligence around security in rural areas.

If anyone has any information about stock going missing, they should report it promptly to local Police.
