Case 1: Twizel Rape and Assault
Timaru Police are investigating the aggravated rape, assault and robbery of a young woman on New Years Day. At approximately 5am on Friday the 1st of January the victim approached a man outside the Twizel supermarket and asked for directions back to the Bendrose Station Backpackers.
After walking her back he has said goodbye and left her alone. A short while later after hearing running footsteps behind her she was punched, brutally raped and robbed.
The offender is described as:
- Male Caucasian
- 19 – 23 years old
- Lean build with a prominent big nose and chin
- Long unwashed wavy blond hair with light brown regrowth
- He was wearing a dark and light green camouflage hoodie, baggy light denim jeans and skate shoes.
