On Friday 12^th of February at approximately 4:40pm two security guards were on their way out of ASB Bank on Great South Road in Otahuhu with a cash deposit. They were approached by a man who held a shotgun to their faces and requested for them to “put the bag down”. The man then got into a Toyota Rav 4 car, which was driven by another male and later found abandoned at another Great South Road address.

On Thursday 4^th of March at approximately 12.30pm two security guards entered the National Bank in Eastridge Shopping Mall on Kepa Road, Mission Bay. They exited the bank with four canisters of cash from the ATM machine. As one of the guards opened up the back of the van to put the cash canister inside the first offender came from around the back of the van and said “give me the money”. A scuffle then occurred in which the guards were threatened with a firearm. 

 

The offenders decamped in a stolen vehicle (rego CZM361) which was found in the Teachers Eastern Rugby Club located in Reihana St, Orakei.
