Case 3: Operation Hope, Henderson
At 3:11am on Friday 18th November 2011 Police staff from Waitakere, Auckland were called to attend the death of a security guard at a Fulton & Hogan construction site at 2 Selwood Road, Henderson.
The victim, Charanpreet Dhaliwal was found by workers from Fulton Hogan who were returning to return a truck to the site at 3:11am. His body was the left of the main entrance gate to the site.
It has been confirmed that Mr Dhaliwal died as a result of blunt force head trauma.
Police wish to identify two groups of males who were in the vicinity of the murder in the relevant time period. They would like to speak with them to see whether they witnessed anything on the night and account for their movements during the time of the homicide.
The first group of 4 Polynesian teenagers were refused entry to Chickx Adult Club, which is situated at 30 The Concourse approximately 400 metres from the scene.

- 20 years
- 172 – 175cm 5’8” – 5’9”
- Solid build
- Short hair

- Samoan
- 16 to 17 years
- Short Hair

- White t-shirt
- ¾ length jeans
Male # 3
- Samoan
- 17 years
Wearing:
- Green T shirt
- ¾ jeans black colour
Male # 4
- Samoan
- 17 years
Wearing:
- White T shirt
- ¾ black jeans
Group 2
The second group of 2 males caught a taxi away from the area in the relevant time period. Due to their slightly older age maturity and clothing description they are not believed to be part of the group described above.
Male 1 (Front seat passenger)
- Samoan
- 21 – 22 years old
- Solid build “like a rugby player”
- Black short curly hair
- Unshaven, growth around his lower face and moustache
Said that he was from Vini village in Samoa and played for the Faatoia rugby team.
Male 2 (back seat passenger)
- Male
- Understood Samoan
- About the same height and build to the male in the front seat
These men got out of the taxi on the corner of Hepburn Road & Neesons Way, Glendene.
Police wish to identify these two groups of males as they may hold information vital to solving this case.
