Counties Manukau Police District
Welcome to the Counties Manukau Police website. The district covers an area from Pokeno over the Bombay hills to Otahuhu and from the coastline of Maraetai in the east to Port Waikato on the west coast. We hope there is something in this site for everyone and that it can be used as a learning tool, helping people to familiarise themselves with the Counties-Manukau police district. This key objective for the Counties Manukau Police is to reduce crime and crashes. In conjunction with achieving these objectives we also envisage making the district a fun and safe place to live and work enhanced by sustained community partnership. Therefore, my vision for Counties Manukau is that we become a District where we have reduced both crime and crashes to the extent that we are known and accepted as being a safe place to live and work. Partnership is an important aspect to the Counties Manukau District becoming the district of choice to live and work. We need the whole community on board so that collectively we make a difference. Within our police district we are fostering a strategy to attract staff to the area by making this the district of choice and an attractive workplace, so we can retain and recruit quality staff. On the subject of recruiting staff the website has also been set up to target people in the community who would like to join the police and in particular the Counties-Manukau police. We need quality staff to achieve our goals and I invite those who have the desire to help people, have no criminal convictions and are physically fit, to ring 0800 NEW COPS (0800 639 2677) and make that first step. You will have access to updated crime statistics and information that can help with school and research projects, updates on some cases our staff are working on and crime prevention advice with ways people can help themselves.
