A man arrested for burglary by Police in Hamilton this afternoon claim Police have got it all wrong and is furious at facing a night in the cells saying it will hinder his search for employment.

Senior Constable Bruce Bogun of the Hamilton Burglary Squad said the 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with a break-in at a Claudelands home last week in which an i-Pod, clothes, mountain bike and other items were taken.

"He had the i-pod on him when we found him and told us he was most put out as he was out looking for a job.

"We took this with a grain of salt given his 132 previous convictions, 60 of which are for burglaries," said Mr Bogun.

The man is currently being interviewed by Police and enquiries are continuing.
