Auckland City Police recovered the body of a woman who was discovered washed ashore at Okahu Bay shortly before 10am today.
A member of the public observed the woman floating near the beach and alerted the matter to Police.
Officers attending the incident say there are no forms of identification on the woman and initial checks have not revealed any recent reports of a missing person that fit her description.
Further information will be made available once additional inquiries have been carried out.
