Southern District Police are warning drivers to take care on the roads and delay unnecessary travel due to icy conditions across the district.
There are areas of black ice in the hill suburbs of Dunedin and in Balclutha, Milton, and Waihola. SH1 from Balclutha to Clinton is particularly treacherous with black ice.
Police are asking drivers to slow down and drive to the conditions. Drivers are also asked to check the situation with the roads across the district tomorrow morning before they set off for the day.
