Canterbury Police are investigating an allegation of sexual assault in the Linwood suburb of Christchurch which is reported to have occurred overnight on 11/12 August 2015.
Detective Sergeant Geoff Rudduck says Canterbury Police and Victim Support are working with the teenage victim and her immediate family. “A scene examination of a residential property in Linwood was completed on Wednesday afternoon (12 August 2015). A number of people have been interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation into this incident.”
A 33 year old man was arrested late last night (12 August 2015) and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court this morning (13 August 2015) charged with burglary and rape.
As this matter is now before the courts Police are unable to make any further comment.
