Police appeal for witnesses to Lewis Pass crash

Canterbury Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6pm last night (27 October 2014) on SH7 20 minutes west of the Hanmer Springs turnoff.

The 25 year old male driver and his 44 year old female passenger were taken to Christchurch Hospital by helicopter after their green Land Rover Discovery rolled down a bank.  They were discharged from hospital this morning.

Police understand the vehicle was travelling west on SH7 and that there were a number of other vehicles in the vicinity at the time of the crash.

Police investigations into the crash are ongoing.

Police ask the driver of any of the vehicles or anyone who may have witnessed the incident and can assist them with their inquiries to contact Canterbury Police on 03 363 7400.
