1 min read

Christchurch Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a silver/grey saloon car involved in a hit and run of a pedestrian just before 7.45pm on Sunday 26 October 2014.  The 38 year old mother of two-month old twins was crossing the intersection of Edgeware Road and Sherborne Street when she was struck.

Police believe the car involved in the incident, a silver/grey four door older style saloon, was travelling east on Edgeware Road and turned right into Sherborne Street while the woman was crossing.  The car is reported to have slowed but then carried on after the impact leaving her laying on the road.

Members of the public who went to assist the woman provided first aid and called an ambulance. She was later transported to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries.

The car may have damage on the driver's side where it collided with the woman.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.

Police ask the driver of the car or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Christchurch Police on 03 363 7400.

Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
