Missing woman Rachael Stokes

Police searching for Wakefield woman Rachel Stokes urgently want to speak to a woman called Cheryl who contacted Police yesterday to say she had seen the missing woman along SH6 on the Kawatiri – Murchison highway.

Rachel Stokes’ car was found crashed on SH6 near Kawatiri Junction on Friday morning and searchers are yet to locate her. Police hold serious concerns for her welfare and believe the information “Cheryl” may be able to provide could assist in locating her. She is asked to call Sergeant Mal York Ph 0211908245.

A ground and air search has resumed this morning with white water teams also searching the Buller River.

Police are asking all motorists travelling on SH6 south of Wakefield to keep an eye out for Rachel Stokes and to call 111 immediately if they see her and to get as accurate as possible description of their location.

Rachel Stokes is European, aged 46 years. It is unknown what she was wearing at the time.
