Police responded to an incident in Taupo on Thursday 20th of August whereby a
32-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his abdomen in the early hours of the morning.
He is still in hospital in a serious condition and has undergone surgery.
The incident happened about 1.20am on Spa Road near the intersection of Motutahae Street, Taupo.

Police are continuing the investigation and have no further comment at this time.
