Hutt Valley Police cordon off Wainuiomata address

At around 3.30pm today Police were informed that a 16-year-old male was planning to take what was believed to be a .22 calibre rifle and threaten a local Wainuiomata resident.

Police established a cordon around a Coniston Street address and the 16-year-old male was arrested without incident. He is currently being interviewed by Police.

The Armed Offenders Squad attended the scene and found one weapon at the house believed to an air rifle.

Police have now lifted the safety cordons around the address.
