Whanganui Police are appealing for Male to hand himself in

1 min read

At 2.35pm this afternoon a local Whanganui man has arrived at hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. The injury while serious is not life threatening.

Police are investigating this incident and acting Detective Sergeant Gorringe from the Whanganui CIB says they are looking for Simon NELLEY who has left the scene. This is out of character for Mr NELLEY and we would like to locate him as soon as possible.

It is believed he is driving a white Nissan Atlas Truck registration number CFS575.

Det. Sgt Gorringe advises the public that NELLEY is likely to be armed and should not be approached. Any sightings of NELLEY or his vehicle can be made to the police by telephoning 111, or anonymously through the free phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Det. Sgt Gorringe is appealing for NELLEY to surrender himself to the police station nearest his location so that this matter can be resolved safely and quickly.
