Police investigating assault on a woman in Ross Creek, Dunedin

1 min read

Police are investigating an assault on a woman that occurred on Monday evening the 30th November 2015.

At about 9.15pm last night, a 23 year old woman was attacked from behind by a man whilst running in Ross Creek, Dunedin.  The woman was knocked to the ground, tied up and assaulted.

The offender ran from the scene after a light coloured dog,  possibly a Labrador, ran up to them.

Police are very interested in speaking to anyone who was walking their dog in Ross Creek at this time.  Police would also like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously.

Police have cordoned off a number of tracks in Ross Creek so that a thorough scene examination can be done in the morning.  The public are asked to stay out of any cordoned off areas until the scene examination is completed.
