Two boys aged 11 and 12 have been referred to Youth Aid after police identified them as responsible for a fire at the primary school in Raetihi.
A police investigation was launched after two classrooms and a library were destroyed by the fire around 9.15pm on Saturday night (30 May). A third classroom was badly damaged.
The 11-year-old boy is from Hamilton and the 12-year-old is from Raetihi.
Police will not be making any further comment.
