Police thank Hawarden community for help to arrest man

1 min read

Please attribute to Sergeant Robert Irvine, Sub Area Supervisor – Hurunui:

Police would like to thank people in the Hawarden area who today assisted us in arresting a wanted man.

Police and AOS from Christchurch were in the area this afternoon making efforts to locate the 29-year-old who was wanted to arrest for breach of bail.

He was arrested without incident this afternoon and has been charged with breach of protection order and breach of bail. He is due to appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow. Other charges are likely.

Police want to reassure the Hawarden community that AOS assisted as a precaution to ensure the safety of members of the public.

We are appreciative of people providing us with information and cooperating with our requests while our search was conducted.

As this matter is now before the court, Police is not able to comment further.
