Police can confirm the name of the man who died following an incident on Maunu Road, Whangarei on Monday 17th December.
He was 52-year-old Edward Martin Townsend.
Police have notified next of kin and our sympathies are with his friends and relatives.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
