Bank robbery

At approximately 1.40 pm today a male entered the BNZ bank on the corner of Colombo and Hereford Streets, Christchurch. Inside he has written out a note which he has then presented to a teller, demanding money.

An amount of money has been passed over to this man who has then exited the bank and headed south on Colombo street. While exiting the bank he has knocked over two people.

He is described as a male Caucasian aged approximately 40 years, with long straggly dark hair, with tattoos of a cross and tear on his right face area. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a cream jacket with a black or dark rugby jersey style top with a maroon and white stripe dark pants and sandshoes.

"Police wish to speak with the two people who were knocked over by this offender and anyone with information as to his identity or any other relevant matters" states Detective Sergeant Mike Johnson
