1 min read

This Morning at 11.45AM, a male Caucasian armed with a crossbow entered the Mobil service station at Barryspoint rd Takapuna.

The man aged in his thirties threatened staff and customers but they were able to leave and alert Police.
Police then cordoned the area off.

At approx. 1.50pm, Police negotiators were able to make contact with the man and he gave himself up.
Inspector Mike Hill said, &#34this is clearly the best possible outcome in a situation like this. Nobody was hurt and the public’s co-operation with the area cordon was excellent.&#34

A man will appear in the North Shore District Court tomorrow.

Released by Rebekah Holt, North Shore/Waitakere/Rodney District Communications Manager on (025) 233 7584.
