Fatal quad bike crash

1 min read

At about 4.30pm on the 7th April emergency services were called to a quad bike crash at Hodders Road, Carterton.

Workers found the farm owner after he went missing earlier in the day.

He had been riding his quad bike when he had lost control on the bank of an open drain.

The farm owner had been spraying weeds when it appears he has rolled the quad bike into the drain and was trapped underneath it.

He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Police are working with the family and worksafe NZ to reconstruct the events leading up to the incident and establish the cause.
