Emergency services are attending a helicopter crash in North Canterbury this morning.
The crash occurred just before 9.30am this morning inland from State Highway 1 near Domett, south of Cheviot.
Initial reports indicate the helicopter was on fire on the ground. No details of the helicopter or its occupants are available at this stage.
Police, Fire, Ambulance and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter are en route to the scene, which is in rough country accessible only by four wheel drive.
No other details are currently available. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
