The Canterbury Police SAR led recovery operation will continue tomorrow for the kayaker who went missing on Lake Coleridge on Saturday afternoon (4 April 2015).
A search of the shore and surrounding area was completed today while Police Divers from Wellington continued an underwater search of the area the man was last seen in. Unfortunately the man has yet to be located. Canterbury Police SAR and the Police dive team will continue the underwater search tomorrow.
Canterbury Police will not be releasing any personal details of the missing kayaker at this time.
From tomorrow (8 April 2015) the access road to Lake Coleridge will be closed from Mt Algidus Road to the intake while the recovery operation is underway.
A further update will be provided at some stage tomorrow (8 April 2015).
No further details will be released today.
