Firearms / dealer’s licence with no endorsement
If you have changed your address or other contact details since your firearms or dealer’s licence was issued:
Update your details online
Alternatively, you can download and complete the change of address form (Editable PDF, 99KB) and email it to firearms.NST@police.govt.nz, or deliver it to your nearest police station or firearms office.
Please note that you are required to give written advice of a change of address to Police within 30 days of changing address (s34(1)).
Firearms / dealer’s licence with endorsement
If you are a firearms or dealer’s licence holder with a licence that bears an endorsement to possess a pistol, restricted weapon or prohibited arms items; the licence holder must notify Police - before the intended change of address - of the arrangements made for the safe custody of the endorsed arms items during the shift to the new address (s34(2)).
The firearms cannot be moved into your new address until the security arrangements at the address have been inspected and approved by Police.

Note
The penalty upon conviction for failing to provide notification of change of address, without reasonable excuse, is a fine not exceeding $2,000.
