Find a mentor
The Firearms Safety Course requires applicants to show they have a strong understanding of the Arms Code and know how to stay safe with firearms. An experienced mentor can help new firearms users continue to improve their firearms safety practices.
After completing the Firearms Safety Course and gaining a firearms licence, Police encourage new firearms users to join a shooting or hunting club and/or association or partner with an experienced shooter to help build on the knowledge and skills gained from the Firearms Safety Course.
