Police seek sightings of car on fatal journey

Police investigating the domestic incident that culminated in a fatal car crash are seeking sightings of the car yesterday morning.

It’s a blue Mitsubishi Diamante – Registration ZA 2539.

"We want to hear from anyone who may have seen the car driving erratically or dangerously in the area between 10:15am and 10:35am", said Inquiry Head, Acting Detective Senior Sergeant, Simon Scott.

"We are especially interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed the crash".

The car crashed into a tree on Riverside Ave about 10:35am. 20 year old, Tairia Raveora was killed instantly.

His 11 month old baby girl is still in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Starship Hospital and her condition is currently described as Critical but Stable.

Police are conducting area inquiries this morning. ESR scientists are completing a scene examination at the Taniwha Street home and the post mortem is currently underway.
