Daniel Livingstone located by Police

Statement from Detective Inspector Grant Wormald:

Absconder Daniel Livingstone has been located and arrested by police this afternoon.

Police were notified by a member of the public around 3.30pm that Mr Livingstone was in the vicinity of the Naenae shops in the Hutt Valley.

Staff patrolling in the area were immediately dispatched and Mr Livingstone was also spotted on the Hutt City CTTV camera network which is monitored at the Lower Hutt Police station.

Cordons were established, and although Mr Livingstone made a brief attempt to flee he was apprehended within the cordon.  

Mr Livingstone will be taken to Wellington Central police station where he will be held overnight pending a court appearance tomorrow morning.

Police would like to thank everyone who has provided information. There has been a very good response from the public and we are grateful for all the calls we have received.
