Northland Police investigating attempted robbery in Hikurangi

Northland Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a dairy in Hikurangi this afternoon. 

Four offenders have entered the shop, one armed with a crowbar. Upon seeing the offenders the dairy owner has armed himself with a bat.  Following a scuffle the shop owner has received a superficial head injury which did not require medical attention.

Following the scuffle the offenders have fled the store without taking anything, leaving the scene in a blue car.

Northland Police remain at the scene and investigations are continuing into the incident.
