Police investigate Scorching Bay death

Wellington Police are investigating the death of a man at his Scorching Bay home today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell, Wellington CIB, said family members found the body of a 69-year-old man in the garden of his Karaka Bay home about 9.20am.

"The circumstances of how the man died are as yet unclear," Detective Senior Sergeant Borrell said. "Police are talking with the man's family who are naturally distraught. They are also receiving help from Victim Support."

Detective Senior Sergeant Borrell said that police are examining the property to help establish how the man died. The Coroner has also been advised.

The man's name will be released once all his next of kin have been informed.
