The Mabel Bush intersection northeast of Invercargill closed due to a serious crash will remain so overnight, ahead of a scene examination in the morning.
The two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Grove Bush Woodlands Road and Rakahouka Hedgehope Road happened about 5:35pm.
One person is in hospital with serious to critical injuries.
Cordons are in place around the crash scene and motorists are asked to take Mabel Bush Road / Woodstock Road as an alternate route.
