1 min read

A team of 10 investigators are conducting a scene examination at a Knights Road address and speaking to locals in the area after a 48-year-old Asian female was found with injuries.

Just before 4.00pm yesterday the woman's husband has arrived home to find the female with a stab wound to be abdomen and immediately sought help for her.

The woman is undergoing medical treatment today and Police are expecting to speak to her tomorrow to get further details on what has occurred.

An initial assessment of the scene leaves Police with an open mind about how the injuries occurred and are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area between 3.00 and 4.00pm yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton says "It is the early stages of our inquiries and we will be interviewing our victim tomorrow".

"I encourage anyone who has any information to approach any of the officers who are in the area".

"To provide some extra reassurance to the community we will have increased patrols in the area."

Anyone with any information should contact Hutt Valley Police on (04) 560 2600. Information can also be provided anonymously to the Crimestoppers organisation on 0800 555 111.
