This information came about following the conclusion of the scene investigation by Police and specialist Fire service and Insurance investigators late yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Todd Pearce, Taupo CIB, has said that Tokoroa and Mangakino Police members have continued to speak to witnesses of the fire but are still seeking any further information.

"This fire has been treated as suspicious from the outset but the confirmation that it was deliberately lit is a major concern. The investigation will continue but we are seeking any information that may assist us in establishing why this has happened, and who is responsible."

Any information can be phoned through to the Tokoroa Police on telephone: 07 885 0100 or through the Crimestoppers information line 0800 555 111.
