At 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020, New Zealand moved to COVID-19 Alert Level 4.

This means New Zealanders not working in essential services must stay at home and stop all interactions with others outside of their household.

During this time Police will continue to provide essential policing services.

Fatal motor vehicle crash at Queenstown

Police can now name the deceased driver as Jennifer Claire SCOTT of Cromwell, aged 76 years.


The other driver is an 18 year old man from Auckland who currently resides in Queenstown.  He is in a stable condition in Southland Hospital and is expected to be realeased in the next few days.


Enquiries are continuing as to the cause of the crash.


Police are still requesting any persons who may have witnessed the crash to come forward and would ask that they contact Acting Detective Sergeant Grant MILLER of Queenstown police, ph 03 441 1600.
