Police collect this information in the course of carrying out police functions, including (in this case) drug testing for evidence of drug driving.

Once personal information is obtained by Police it is subject to statutory requirements, in particular the Privacy Act 2020. This means that the way Police generate, store and share your personal information is subject to those requirements.

If your first drug screening test is negative, then personal information is not held in relation to oral fluid testing and any saliva collected is disposed of as secure biohazard waste.
