North Shore Police hope members of the public may recall seeing either an offender or a stolen car that was used in a robbery at the Civic Video Store.
The robbery occurred at the store on Anzac Road, Browns Bay, at 9.30 p.m. Saturday February 21 2004.
The offender used a Tazor stun gun, (about the size of a cellphone) and a screwdriver to threaten the two staff members. "The offender managed to cover himself up well, so it was hard for the two staff members to get a look at his face or any distinguishing features, " says Detective Constable Shane Page.
The two staff members describe the offender as being aged between late teens and mid twenties. He had a thin to medium build and was 5’10" to 6’2" tall. He was wearing a black long sleeve hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a baseball cap, a cloth or something similar over his face, dark wrap around sunglasses, baggy black shorts and gloves.
The offender used a white 1986 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback vehicle. Just before the robbery, the vehicle was stolen from Bute Road Browns Bay and afterwards was abandoned on Inverness Road.
A moderate amount of cash was taken in the robbery along with a small metal safe and a digital video-recording device.
