The search for two missing skiers in the back country at Ohau Snow Fields resumed this morning at 0730hrs.
Search and Rescue volunteers from North Otago, Twizel, Mt Cook and Wanaka assisted in the search which included specialist alpine searchers deployed in the snow areas.
At approximately 0830hrs this morning the two skiers (a male and female) were sighted by the SAR helicopter in the Maitland Valley area.
Sgt Wayne Brew stated the helicopter first sighted a help message left by the missing skiers before sighting the pair a short time later. They are both believed to be in good condition.
