Two people are in Nelson Hospital following an incident at a Nelson address this morning in which they both received knife wounds.
Police were called to the address about 10.45am.
A man has suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident and a woman has superficial wounds.
A police investigation is under way to establish what occurred.
One person is in Police custody and Police are not currently looking for anyone else in relation to the matter.
