Operation Dallington, press release 17

1 min read

In the early part of the investigation we released details of a man who approached the Salvation Army Van on Manchester Street just 11 p.m. on the evening of 18 February 2008. This man told the staff he had been stabbed and sought treatment.

We have been able to identify this man and the associate that was with him and they have both cooperated with the investigation in terms of their whereabouts through the evening leading up to approaching the van. The man has also given an explanation for the injury which appears to be corroborated and occurred much earlier in the day.

We have also examined the vehicle that they were travelling in and at this stage there has been nothing located that would be of interest to us.

At this time we are still carrying out a number of enquiries to confirm what they say and they are being treated as one of number of people of interest to the investigation.

We have located the vehicle that they were travelling in Manchester Street around 11 p.m. There are several more enquiries that need to be done before I would deem it necessary to release a photograph of this vehicle.
